Guide to setting up custom Google home Page (RSS).

Part1: Setting Up Google Reader

In this guide I will explain how to set up a customized Google homepage with the aim of showing your favourite RSS feeds on it.

Firstly you have to register with Google. Go to their homepage and click the sign in link. It is located on the top right hand side of the page.

You will be forwarded to the Google accounts page, click on the link 'create one for free' found on the second line of text. Enter your details.

Now you have registered you need to set up your Google Reader account. Go to www.google.com/reader and log in (you might want to tick the remember me box).

Once logged in you have the ability add a RSS feed. Simply click the 'Add subscription' link in the left hand column and a text field will appear, enter one (or all) of the following URL's and click 'Add'.

Quakewars Center Feeds:
All News/Posts and Replies: http://www.quakewarscenter.com/forums/index.php?type=rss;action=.xml;limit=70
All News: http://www.quakewarscenter.com/forums/index.php?type=rss;sa=news;action=.xml;board=2.0;limit=30
All Official Releases: http://www.quakewarscenter.com/forums/index.php?type=rss;sa=news;action=.xml;board=4.0;limit=30

You will then be taken to the Expanded View page.

Part2: Setting Up Personalised Home

You have just set up Google Reader, now you need to set up the Google Personalised home page. Go to www.google.com (you should still be logged in, if not click sign in) press the 'Personalised Home' link that is next to your Email Address.

From here you need to press the ?Add Stuff >>? link that can be found on the left of the page. Type Reader in the search field and click ?Search Homepage Content? press the ?Add it now? button under Google reader.

Now click the ?<< Back to homepage? link.

That is it set up. You can customise it by clicking the ?edit? button.
